FC Barcelona Ready for First Fixture at Partially Completed Camp Nou over the weekend

Barcelona have announced they are set to host at the still-under-construction Camp Nou this Saturday. Athletic Bilbao will visit the Bilbao team in domestic competition two and a half years after they moved out to allow renovations to start.

“Returning home was our dream. Finally, it’s happening. We are back at Spotify Camp Nou.”

The stadium will not be at full capacity with 45,401 fans are permitted inside based on approved permits. Once fully finished, it will accommodate over 104,000 attendees, a rise from the old capacity. Barça announced completed upgrades featured a renovated tunnel for players and new dressing rooms.

Stadium Testing

The club conducted a public practice inside the stadium earlier this month. Officials stated they are seeking authorization from Uefa for their upcoming Champions League fixture against Eintracht Frankfurt next month in the renovated venue. They have been hosting matches at Estadio Olímpic Lluís Companys.
